We work diligently to understand your compliance requirements. In doing so, we are able to provide oversight and
assistance in times of need.
An industrial business is required to demonstrate compliance with the Industrial General Permit when applying for a business license or renewal on or after January 1st, 2020.
A “Hazardous material” is any material that, because of its physical/chemical characteristics, poses a potential hazard to humans and/or environmental health if released into the workplace or the environment. These requirements vary by local Certified Unified Program Agency (CUPA) jurisdiction.
HMBPs are required for any business that uses or stores Hazardous Materials that meet or exceed these quantities at any one time.
NOTE: Minimum quantity reporting depends on the local regulating CUPA:
Wastewater discharges from industrial and commercial sources may contain pollutants at levels that could affect the quality of receiving waters or interfere with publicly owned treatment works (POTWs) that receive those discharges.
The National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permitting program establishes discharge limits and conditions for industrial and commercial sources with specific limitations based on the type of facility/activity generating the discharge.
